LAST SHOW!
Today was bitter-sweet. It was the last time the Thursday crew will be working together. And at the same time a lot of us will be going our seperate ways to venture into the "real world. We had a pretty good show despite the fact that I was a little light on the producing end. Production ran very smoothly and overall everyone came together and put out their best for the show. I have learned so much throughout this journey and have definitely grown not only as a person, but as a producer as well. I can't wait to see what the future holds. Until then.....
Still Going Strong
Today was a pretty good day. From top to bottom the news day ran pretty smooth. There wasn't a lot of running around or stress like there sometimes is during the day. Everyone came together and pulled everything off. The o so important A block ran really well. There were barely any hitches or flaws, if any at all. With only a few shows left I just hope that things will continue to get better and we can finish off the semester with a bang.
Today was a good day dispite everything that happened. Communication, which was the main issue last week, imroved tremendously this week! All of my reporter's PKG's were amazing! My AP defintely came through and went above and beyond her duties today. I lost an entire 6 minutes of my show so I had a crash course in learning how to adjust. But everything worked out and the show was overall a good show!
Trying New Things
Last week I blogged about how I wanted to explore with different things creativly and today I got the chance. There were a few elements of my show that I experimented with. Overall things did not work out exactly how I wanted them to but it did not come out bad. The only thing I would to improve for next weeks show is communication between me and my crew
Learning Everyday
Today's show was overall pretty good! My major problem was that I under-produced but I am continuing to learn more everyday. My entire crew was amazing today, everyone came through with everything that they were suppose to do. I am trying to get more fluent and more creative with my writing as well as trying to dable in a few creative things along the way. I know that shows from this point out can only get better.
"THINK AHEAD"
"Always stay on your toes" was the motto I learned to practice after today's show. There are many intricate details that goes into producing a show. and I am vastly learning the importance of them all not matter how small the detail, it will never go unnoticed. Something that I may feel , as a producer, that aren't as crucial may be a very important detail for the director or for the camera operator. having every single position in mind is something a producer MUST do in order to have a successful show. The lesson I took away from today's show was to stay on top of every person and every position because ultimately as a producer you have to play the role of everyone.
First Live Show
Today was the first day my newscast went live. It actually went much better than anticipated. leading up to the day I was so nervous and concerned about what could go wrong and what I could do better, but once I walked into the newsroom that morning all of my fears went away. My entire team came in with their game faces, ready to work.
